RISA & MINICT mark Labour Day and reaffirm commitment to driving Rwanda's Digital Transformation

Kigali, 3 July 2026 – Staff of the Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA), together with those from the Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT), celebrated this year's Labour Day under the theme: "Partnering for Skills, Powering Job Creation, Fostering Local Economic Resilience."

Addressing employees during the celebration, the Hon. Minister of ICT and Innovation commended the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by staff across the Ministry and its affiliated institutions, noting that Labour Day is a celebration of the opportunity to work and serve the nation.

The Minister encouraged employees to be proud of their work, emphasising that every contribution, regardless of role, plays an important part in the country's continued progress. Celebrating Labour Day, the Minister added, means celebrating the fact that citizens have jobs and the opportunity to contribute to the strength and continued development of the nation.

On behalf of RISA, the Chief Operations and Strategy Officer thanked all staff for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and hard work in advancing the shared mandate of accelerating Rwanda's digital transformation, commending employees for their invaluable contributions to the achievements of both institutions and encouraging them to continue fostering a positive, collaborative, and conducive working environment that enables innovation, teamwork, and excellence. Every milestone achieved, the Chief Operations and Strategy Officer noted, is a result of staff dedication and commitment, adding that employees should continue nurturing a workplace built on collaboration, mutual respect, and continuous improvement as they work together to deliver impactful digital services for all Rwandans.

The celebration also provided an opportunity to recognise and honour the best employees of the year from the Ministry and RISA, in appreciation of their outstanding performance and dedication over the past financial year.

Apart from the official remarks, the celebration offered staff an opportunity to strengthen team spirit, reflect on the significance of their work, and reaffirm their shared commitment to Rwanda's vision of becoming a knowledge-based and digitally empowered nation.
