Hanga Hubs and the startups we support proudly represented Rwanda at VivaTech Paris 2025, one of Europe’s leading events for technology and innovation. This participation was made possible through a strong partnership with the European Union Delegation to Rwanda, the Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA), the Rwanda ICT Chamber, and the Ministry of ICT and Innovation.

VivaTech brings together the global tech ecosystem, from top startups and investors to industry leaders and media, across 174 countries. The 2025 edition showcased breakthrough innovations, major product launches, and inspiring discussions across four vibrant days in Paris.

For Rwanda’s growing tech ecosystem, this global platform presented a unique opportunity: to spotlight homegrown solutions, build strategic partnerships, and gain international visibility. Our entrepreneurs engaged directly with investors, fellow innovators, and global technology leaders, opening doors to future collaboration and market expansion.

Three startups from the Hanga Hubs were selected to exhibit and represent Rwanda at VivaTech 2025. Here are their profiles and reflections:

• Green Fuel

Founder: Claudette Akimpaye | Hub: Hanga Hub Nyagatare
Solution: Green Fuel converts biodegradable waste into clean cooking gas systems, offering affordable, sustainable energy for rural communities.

Founder’s Reflection: “VivaTech was a transformative experience. I connected with global innovators and discovered technologies that can help scale our solution. I’m truly grateful to the Hanga Hubs team and the Government of Rwanda. Your support gave a young woman in tech a platform to gain international exposure, build strategic connections, and strengthen our mission to deliver clean, affordable energy.”

Solution: A sustainable agribusiness specializing in mushroom farming, organic compost production (DPC), and integrated monitoring systems.

We built meaningful connections that can drive real growth—not just for our startup, but for Rwanda’s broader tech ecosystem. Solution: A software development company building tools for communication, student management, and eLearning.

Founder’s Reflection: “We connected with forward-thinking startups and gained insights that will shape the future of our platform. I’ve started discussions with Heex Technologies on integrating AI into our software—a major leap forward for our development roadmap.”
