About 70 ICT Professionals Conclude 6-Week Leadership and Team-Building Training

From November 1st to December 6, about 70 ICT professionals from various public institutions participated in a 6-week Leadership and Team Building training aimed at nurturing their skills and strengthening the team-building spirit. The training was organised by the Rwanda Information Society Authority in collaboration with MINICT and JICA.

Upon completion, the trainees’ representative described the experience as a transformative journey, during which they learned to understand themselves better and recognise when to say yes or no to inner saboteurs or external pressures. They also gained insights into the power of appreciation, embracing diversity, and being authentic to oneself in the workplace. The representative emphasised their commitment to applying these acquired skills to create a better working environment, ultimately leading to improved performance.

Speaking at the graduation event, the JICA representative expressed appreciation to MINICT and RISA for successfully implementing this project. He commended Kora Coaching Business Academy for delivering impactful soft skills training and noted that the journey is ongoing to support the training of as many Rwandans as possible, accelerating Rwanda’s transformation journey across all sectors.

On behalf of RISA, Dr. Said Rutabayiro thanked the participants, trainers, and all other stakeholders for making the training possible. He stated that this programme empowers participants with the tools necessary to lead their teams effectively, solve problems creatively, and build cohesive work environments that drive innovation. He added that RISA would do its utmost to ensure that similar training opportunities are extended to all aspiring change-makers.

The MINICT representative thanked the Government of Japan through JICA for their support and underscored the importance of such skills in the 21st century. She stressed that public servants must move beyond robotic workstyles to genuinely connect with people, recognising that human capital is the most valuable resource when it is well-equipped. They also thanked the trainees for their commitment and the time dedicated to the sessions.
